Where does LitLovers get its information?

Site Authentication
For those concerned with issues of this site's authenticity, please take a few minutes to read where the information on LitLovers comes from.

With the exception of the Readers Guides, all information on LitLovers is mine:
—derived from my years as a teacher,
—compiled from research (books, periodicals, and
   online sources)
—provided to me from book clubs around the US
—drawn from life experiences as a parent and cook
—suggested by friends, fellow readers and cooking    hobbyists

The information I am referring to is found in the LitCourses and on the LitClub page (generic questions for fiction and non-fiction, book club how-to's for adults and young people, "Read-Think-Talk" chart, monthly recommendations, recipes, ice-breakers, book club favorites).

Attributions
The Reading Guides are not original. They are similar to those provided by other online reading sites (Book Browse, Book Movement, Reading Group Choices, and Reading Group Guides) with the difference that the publishers do not upload their own information onto LitLovers—I do. This allows me discretion to choose the books and critical reveiws that I want on the site.

The information for the Guides comes primarily through Barnes and Noble. LitLovers is a B&N affiliate, which gives me the rights to use information from their site about books and authors, as well as critical reviews. This information is always attributed to its source. When information is scarce, I turn to Wikipedia, which permits use as long as it is credited —which it always is on LitLovers.

Discussion Questions at the end of the Guides are issued by the publishers and carried on Barnes and Noble. They are identifical to those provided by all other book club sites mentioned above.

I believe LitLovers Reading Guides, while not as numerous as other sites, are often more comprehensive. I carry complete reviews from
Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Review, and Library Journal. I also try to include both positive and negative commentary—not just promotional snippets used by the publishers.

If you have additional concerns not addressed here, please contact me. Because so much of the material is original, issues of authenticity and attribution are of great concern to me. I would be happy to answer any questions.
